With the current cold weather, it is essential that you are storing your liquid waterproofing systems appropriately so you can continue to get the most out of them.
Liquid waterproofing systems are cold-applied roofing systems that cure to form seamless and joint-free waterproof coatings. The system is moisture-curing, reacting with moisture in the air to cure once applied.
Products should be kept under cover in a dry place and sealed correctly to ensure they remain free from frost and moisture, and must be stored between 5-25°C. Keeping the product at a reasonable temperature during transport is equally as important.
Systems can still be applied at a temperature as low as 5°C. However, please be aware that cure-times will be slower. The product’s viscosity can also dramatically increase at low temperatures, with the adhesive becoming thicker than expected. This can impact the application and expected coverage of the product.
For best results you should try to get your product to an ambient temperature before starting work, ideally 10°C or above, for ease of application during these winter months.
Liquid waterproofing systems have a shelf life of 6 months. Please ensure you store your products accordingly in such a way that you will use the oldest products first.
